Living with Autism

Autism is a lifelong developmental disability which affects how people communicate and interact with the world. One in 100 people are on the autism spectrum and there are around 700,000 autistic adults and children in the UK.

Everybody at this contractor was invited to join a Teams Meeting on World Autism Day to hear from Tim Young in their East Anglia region as he talked about his journey and how they as colleagues, friends and parents might be able to support those around them who are on the autism spectrum.

Tim was very engaging when explaining his side of the story, experiences and his journey allowing the workforce to see the world through his eyes and relate more than just learning facts about the disability. There was an opportunity for an open Q&A session afterwards which helped to inform and educate the workforce further.
